kerry_new.jpgTodd_0317.jpgDo you have a Jacuzzi in your bathroom? If so, it may be time for an update. Right now, efficiency – both in terms of time and environmental resources – reigns supreme. Jacuzzis, soaking tubs and bathtubs in general are “out” and high-end showers are “in.”

For 2012, we’re seeing a movement toward luxurious showers with overhead rain-style showerheads, multiple showerheads, and digital controls. Since a long, indulgent shower can use more water than a bath, the industry has been quick to respond with innovative, water-saving showerheads. Many maintain water pressure by injecting air into the water stream.

2012 bathroom remodeling trends indicate a continued desire for comfort and convenience. Radiant floor heating, towel warmers, steam showers and even built-in TVs and beverage refrigerators make bathrooms relaxing havens.

Ph_1663.jpgWhile white bathrooms will always be popular, we’re seeing a movement toward warming up the space with texture and color. Many homeowners are requesting cabinets that look like furniture to give the bathroom a homey, vintage appearance. Pops of color on the wall and in beautiful tiles enliven the space. We’re even seeing a return to wallpaper in some bathrooms!

On the opposite end of the spectrum, homeowners who embrace a modern aesthetic are gravitating toward clean lines and natural materials, such as exotic woods and textured metals. Floating vanities – vanities without visible support – are a popular way to achieve a sleek, airy feel.
